Description & mechanism

LL-37 is the C-terminal antimicrobial peptide of human cathelicidin (hCAP-18). It is used in research to study antimicrobial-peptide activity, membrane interactions, and immunomodulatory signalling in cell-free and cell-culture systems.

Handling, reconstitution & storage

Reconstitute the lyophilized solid in sterile water or bacteriostatic diluent to the desired working concentration; mix by gentle inversion and avoid vigorous agitation or repeated freeze-thaw. Sterile-filter (0.22 µm) if aseptic use is required, aliquot into single-use volumes, and store reconstituted material frozen at -20 °C.
