Description & mechanism
Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic lactam analogue of alpha-MSH and a non-selective melanocortin-receptor agonist. It is used in research to study melanocortin-receptor pharmacology and downstream signalling in melanocyte and receptor-expression models.

Specifications
Handling, reconstitution & storage
Reconstitute the lyophilized solid in sterile water or bacteriostatic diluent to the desired working concentration; mix by gentle inversion and avoid vigorous agitation or repeated freeze-thaw. Sterile-filter (0.22 µm) if aseptic use is required, aliquot into single-use volumes, and store reconstituted material frozen at -20 °C.
